BACE Monitors and Optimizes Energy Assets like Solar Inverters, Battery Systems, HVAC systems and Delivers Sub-Metering with Easy Installation

BACE is a proven, out-of-the-box IoT solution that can be installed in existing facilities and connects to sensors, controllers, equipment and meters. It offers a full slate of Energy Management Functions and can be customized for any plant or operation. BACE IoT enables:

  • Dynamic Load Balancing, such that power use in a facility is optimized in accordance with the price of electricity.
  • Peak Shaving, such that processes in the facility that can be operated with a degree of flexibility are sped up during periods of lower overall power consumption, and slowed down during periods when demand is high.
  • Curtailment, such that feeding back electricity during periods of negative prices is avoided.
  • Battery Optimization, such that the use of the battery optimally supports the peak shaving and load balancing objectives.

 

With the BACE IoT Platform these functions can be implemented quickly. 

 

BACE also delivers Electricity Sub-Metering, which provides customers with detailed information about the energy use of specific equipment or areas of a facility. This information enables them to identify the larger energy users, and provides insights in how to reduce consumption. Questions such as when the energy is consumed, if inefficient operating processes contribute to higher energy use, and if specific equipment should be retrofitted or replaced by energy efficient alternatives can all be addressed. In the end this reduces costs, but also:

  • Contributes to the ESG objectives
  • Reduces the dependency on the Power Grid
  • Makes it easier to comply with new regulations, such as CSRD

With BACE it is easy to start. The BACE IoT Gateway can be connected to energy meters through various protocols and once connected the gateway automatically transmits the energy data to a platform in the cloud – via a cellular or LAN connection. This data can be monitored through an on-line dashboard and stored. The data can be downloaded for reporting purposes.
