Learn more about EXEDRA's BALDER Service
It is estimated that there are tens of thousands of ageing fields all over the world, and plugging and abandonment (P&AA) of wells are costly endeavours for the operators. Especially if not done properly, this can result in leaking harmful hydrocarbon gases to the environment and hence a huge liability risk for the operator who then needs to engage in costly remedial work to rectify the leaking well.
In our upcoming webinar, Norwegian company Exedra will present BALDER™, a cost-effective, quick, unambiguous and versatile method to verify integrity of a wide variety of downhole barriers.
Exedra Chairman Torger Skillingstad and Exedra CEO and Founder Bernt Pedersen will join us to showcase this technology, which uses advanced detection systems to analyse, record and validate any leakage of the sealing method. They will also explain how this technology cuts both P&AA operations costs for operators and risks to the environment.
So, join us on the 11th of October 2022, 10am CEST and discover this game changing solution that ensures integrity of your abandoned wells!
About Exedra
Exedra AS is delivering a new verification method for permanent plug and abandonment of oil wells. The company was founded as a consultancy in 2016, but turned into a pure technology development company in 2018. The technology development is supported technically and financially by Equinor, ConocoPhillips and AkerBP. The technology has been qualified according to Advanced Well Equipment Standards for Downhole Sensors and after DnV-GL recommended practices for technology qualifications RP-A203. The first offshore deployment of the technology are scheduled for Q3-2022.
About the Speakers
TORGER SKILLINGSTAD, Exedra Chairman
Torger is working chairman of Exedra and involved in several other high impact technology companies with offspring mainly out of Norway. Prior to this role, Torger was the CEO of RESMAN for eight years , a wireless surveillance company using downhole deployed polymer-based tracer technology to determine which zone in a production well was producing oil, water or gas.
Torger has over 30 years of experience from the Oil and Gas industry and holds an Msc degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Stavanger, Norway.
BERNT PEDERSEN, Exedra Founder and CEO
Bernt Pedersen founded Exedra in 2016 after realising that the Oil & Gas industry had no good way of verifying that a permanent plug in an oil or gas well would be leak tight and that this shortcoming in the industry was hampering the development of new and more cost-effective plugging solutions. Prior to that Bernt worked in Norske Shell for eight years as Technology Manager and Venture Principal for Shell Technology Ventures.
Bernt has over 30 years of experience and holds a Msc degree in Engineering Physics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway.
